A Great Day at Thompson’s Mills

Last Wednesday I went up to Thompson’s Mills to snoop and shoot. I’ve made nearly thirty visits since I started going there, and I feel like a kid on Halloween with no limit on treats. By the end of this day I had enough new work to add a ninth gallery to my collection—there are 336 images so far, and who knows how many to come? It’s the looking that keeps me returning. That, and helping (in a small way) the park staff restore the mill as a historic site.

I used the Sony 5n exclusively, on tripod, with the Sigma 30 and (mostly) Pentax-M 100 macro. The sun came out when none of the forecast rain appeared, everyone was in a fine mood, lunch was good, and the camera’s battery still held 50% of its charge when I packed the gear away.
