Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe. —Anatole France
The impulse to travel is one of the hopeful symptoms of life. —Agnes Repplier
Politicians wanted to mine the Grand Canyon for zinc and copper, and Theodore Roosevelt said, ‘No.’ —Douglas Brinkley
Great photos, especially that subtle lighting. And love the first quote!
Thanks, Tom; the Canyon really is a subtle place (at least along the tops—I haven’t hiked inside). An ever-changing palette of colors and moods.
The quotes are as inspiring as the photos, beautiful!
Thank you; I enjoy finding the quotes almost as much as taking the pictures. Almost…
That is a great combination of skills to have… 🙂
I also like both photos and quotes. I’m so thankful for all the national and state parks and monuments. They are national treasures.

Glad you like the post; and you’re right about our treasures, we’re really fortunate that way.
The other national treasure is the library system. 🙂
Janet, the libraries may be the best one of all.
I completely agree, Bill. I have several enormous stacks of books right now and about 50 (newly published or not yet published) on hold. Wonderful!!!
I love the third picture, just beautiful

Thank you… all of the pictures were taken at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, from viewpoints near the lodge. That is the quiet side of the park—only ten percent of all visitors go there, the rest to the busy south rim.
Beautiful shots!
