The Anchor

When I took this photo, on our walk along England’s Cumbria Way in May, I was attracted by the obvious contrasts between the tree and stone wall. If you’d asked me then, perhaps I’d have ventured “Cooperation” as a title, since the deteriorating tree might be helping the wall here. Yet, after reworking the picture into Black & White via Nik’s SilverEfex Pro 2…I’m not so sure. In this starker version the upright might instead be cast as divisive, interfering in the normal flow of things. Or not. Do you have an opinion?
