On Sunday we bounced over eleven miles (each way) of a bulldozer’s-width 4WD road to see wild mustangs. We knew, going in, that our chances of glimpsing wild horses was slim—as likely as winning a lottery—but in this instance losing was sweet, surrounded as we were by junipers and tiny flowers.
