Goose Eggs for Easter

Goose Eggs for Easter

From The Free Dictionary:
goose egg
n. Slang
1. Zero, especially when written as a numeral to indicate that no points have been scored.
2. A swelling or lump, especially one caused by being struck.

With spring training concluded and rosters set, Major League Baseball begins today as the damned Yankees visit Fenway Park in Boston. There’s no doubt the Red Sox Nation will be boisterously rooting for the Easter Bunny (or Josh Beckett) to serve up nothing but goose eggs to the reigning world champs. I’m glad the season’s here: we need something to knock weather stories off the front page, to get the rest of the winter snows melted and put summer in sight (and mind).

I can’t wait to complain about hot weather!
