Another Price IncreaseEditing through old digital files I came upon this photo, taken one evening in November of 2003. I was attracted by the bright carnival-like hues, which were luminous under low-angled sunlight—it’s the sole reason I snapped the shot.

A close inspection also reveals it’s a historical record—the station attendant is changing fuel prices on the sign, raising the tag for a gallon of regular to a then-unheard-of $1.57 per gallon. Live in the past, anyone?
