This was a planned trip, to central Oregon and the Painted Hills…one unit of the John Day Fossil Beds Natl. Monument. A long name, great photo possibilities, and a geologist’s paradise. I made a couple of trips east to shoot here, once in the spring and again in late summer. You never know what you’ll get here, so it’s worth returning if you can.
